Kathryn Reed

Kathryn Reed joins the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences as assistant professor and vice chair for Equity, Inclusion and Community Engagement in the Department of Physician Assistant Studies.

Reed currently practices in internal medicine and is the founder and president of the National Society of Black Physician Assistants (NSBPA). Her research interests are in the areas of health disparities and inequities, especially in relation to access to preventative care services, disease prevalence and outcomes, and the impact of patient education in underrepresented groups.

She is a member of the Pennsylvania Society of Physician Assistant's Health Disparity Committee and the recipient of SHRS' Rising Star Award in 2020. Reed earned her Bachelor of Science in emergency medicine and her Master of Science in physician assistant studies from SHRS.
