Welcome New Faculty: Dr. Terri Newman

Dr. Terri Newman

Dr. Terri Newman joined Pitt faculty as an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy and Therapeutics in the School of Pharmacy in September 2020.

Prior to that, she was a outcomes research fellow at UPMC Health Plan and Pitt Pharmacy, focusing on conducting large pharmacoepidemiology studies to evaluate health and economic outcomes associated with the use of anticoagulants and antidiabetic treatments.

In June 2021, Newman received the ASHP Pharmacy Leadership Scholars Research Grant for her project “Identifying Barriers and Facilitators to the Use of Disease Modifying Treatments in Sickle Cell Disease: Analysis of Provider and Patient Surveys and Interviews." She was also invited to submit a full application for the American Society of Hematology (ASH) Scholar Award, a grant award for Junior Faculty to provide resources and training to become independent researchers.
