Dr. Amanda McCoy

Dr. Amanda McCoy has joined the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery as an Assistant Professor in the Division of Pediatric Orthopaedics.

McCoy earned an MPH from the University of North Carolina Gillings School of Global Public Health and received her medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine. She completed orthopaedic surgery residency training in the Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Residency Program followed by a pediatric orthopaedic surgery fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine. 

McCoy recently completed a two-year commitment at Tenwek Mission Hospital in Bomet, Kenya. She was appointed Interim Program Director of Pan African Association of Christian Surgeons (PAACS)/College of Surgeons of East Central and Southern Africa (COSECSA) Tenwek Orthopaedic Residency Program. She extended her initial commitment an additional year to assist with transitions in the orthopaedic residency program. 

McCoy will see patients at UPMC Children’s South and will participate in hospital-based clinics at UPMC Children’s Hospital Main and the CHP Outreach location in Western Maryland (Cumberland).
